One-to-one therapy for adults working through anxiety, low mood, self-worth, stress and life transitions.
Individual therapy is a private, structured conversation between you and your psychologist. There is no script to follow and nothing you have to have figured out before you arrive — the first session is simply about understanding what has brought you in.
Sessions draw on evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based techniques. Which one is used depends on what you are working through; the approach is agreed with you rather than applied to you.
Most people meet weekly to begin with, moving to fortnightly as things settle. Progress is reviewed together at regular intervals, so you always know why you are still coming and what you are working towards.
If a difficulty has lasted more than a few weeks and is affecting your sleep, work, relationships or ability to enjoy things, it is worth a conversation. You do not need a diagnosis to start therapy.
